In normal times, one in three U.S. families struggle to purchase diapers. As the impact of the COVID-19 crisis deepens, many more families are unable to pay for essentials and are turning to local diaper banks for help. Huggies^® is stepping up with #HelpingHugs through a 5 million diaper donation to The National Diaper Bank Network and $1 million to United Way to support community social services.

Five Million Diapers to National Diaper Bank Network

NDBN's 200 diaper banks nationwide serve nearly 200,000 children on a monthly basis. The five million diapers Huggies® is donating to NDBN would fill twenty 18-wheeler trucks and will help local diaper banks meet the unprecedented demand for their services. Huggies has contributed 250 million diapers to NDBN since 2011 and 2020 will mark its biggest donation year in the brand's history.

$1 Million to United Way For COVID-19 Relief Efforts

NDBN member diaper banks include those operated by community-based United Way organizations. United Way Worldwide helps individuals and families in need receive food assistance, pay housing bills, access childcare supplies and secure social services. To bolster these efforts, Huggies® is committing $1 million in support of the United Way COVID-19 Community Response and Recovery Fund. Donations from the fund will stay in the U.S. and will help the most vulnerable populations receive critical financial and social services during this global crisis.

Prioritizing hospitals & NICU families

Hand to hold, a nonprofit organization for NICU families, announced the launch of virtual support groups for NICU families. Kimberly Clark's Huggies^® brand is serving as the national sponsor of the new program, modeled on Hand to Hold's in-person and in-hospital support groups. The virtual services are available free of charge to all families and caregivers of NICU babies.
